GHS football play-by-play: The texting version

Friday's playoff game against Banks had a lot of late drama. It's funny to go back and recreate the action by reviewing a texting conversation I had with my brother. He's also a GHS alumnus and is interested in how his nephew is doing on the field, but he lives in the Seattle area, so it's tough to keep track.

Some hints and context: J is my son, Gladstone's quarterback. HFA is home-field advantage; Kerry's reference is a vestige of the days when we thought places like Banks were near the edge of the earth. White shirts are the visiting team, Banks. The 21-0 score is a typo, corrected in the succeeding entry. In fact, all live typos are included below, e.g., "ball on 1q1" means Gladstone had the ball on the 11-yard line. Military time; you'll figure it out. Finally, "See you next week" means that, because of the win, he's bringing his family down to Gladstone for Thanksgiving and to watch the upcoming semifinal game. So:
